William T. Gavin
Welcome to GavinEcon.com
I am currently an Economist Emeritus at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. For the past two years I have been teaching Macroeconomics as a visiting professor at the University of Guanajuato. This website includes information about my past and ongoing research, and material that I have provided for students at the University of Guanajuato.
I retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis on January 1, 2015, after serving 34 years in the Federal Reserve System, the first 14 years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and the last 20 years at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. I held a variety of jobs in management, but my main interest and experience was in research and policy analysis. I taught as a graduate student at the Ohio State University. While working in the Federal Reserve System, I have taught a variety of classes in macroeconomics, microeconomics, and money and banking as an adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve, Cleveland State University, and Washington University in St. Louis. Although I have retired from the Fed, I continue to conduct research, teach, and comment on monetary policy issues.
